Seasoned Chicken for Tacos interpreted from “My Favorite Finds”

Do you ever get bored of eating the same kind of chicken all the time? Sure, there are several possible variations and ways to cook chicken, but I tend to loyally stick to my usual way of preparing chicken every single week, and inevitably I grow very tired of these methods very fast. I needed to change up my usual chicken routine, and so I turned to Pinterest for some fresh ideas.

I came across a great blog called “My Favorite Finds” created by a woman named Carrie. Carrie related to my chicken boredom and fortunately had a great solution to this problem that would quite literally “spice things up” in the kitchen.

The recipe calls for:

2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tsp cumin
3 teaspoons oregano
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne
1.5 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder

And that’s it! All that is required is combining these delicious spices together and seasoning the chicken with the mixture to create a wonderfully hot and spicy kick for our bored taste buds. Carrie recommends this type of seasoning for tacos and other classic Mexican dishes, but I just might choose to use this seasoning any time I cook chicken now! I think it would be delicious over a salad or paired with some mixed veggies. Even by itself it was absolutely delicious (although I don’t recommend it for anyone who does not like spicy food).

As pictured below, I decided to cut the chicken into smaller pieces before seasoning it, but the taste well surpassed my expectations. I can’t wait to make this dish again, and I even saved the recipe in my phone in case I want to share the recipe or quickly whip it up for friends.

Thanks for sharing, Carrie!

  1. I’m so glad you liked my spice recipe! I’d love to hear what else you use it on and do with the seasoned chicken. 🙂

  2. Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe- so far I typically just add it in salads, quesadillas, and fajitas… but the options are endless because I think these flavors go great with just about anything!
